SHIP was first accredited in 2015 and we are excited to share that we are preparing for our second site survey with Accreditation Canada in November 2019.
As an accredited organization, SHIP is committed to continually improving our services. That’s why we voluntarily participate in accreditation with Accreditation Canada—to learn what we’re doing well and where we can improve. By having external surveyors assess our services against national standards, we are better able to focus our quality improvement efforts. The accreditation process involves visits from health care professionals representing Accreditation Canada, who speak with staff, volunteers, clients, families, community partners and board members to gain a better understanding of our care practices.
Through organization-wide assessments and surveys, quality initiatives and training, we are committed to the ongoing journey of excellence in quality and client safety.
