Recognizing the need for more affordable housing in Orangeville, SHIP purchased 236 First Street and re-developed the property to bring permanent supportive housing to individuals in Orangeville.

The development is comprised of individual units featuring both studios and two-bedrooms to accommodate individuals and families with low to moderate incomes, which supports an identified shortage of affordable housing in Orangeville.

236 First St tenants can expect to be a part of a vibrant community that provides a safe, secure and stable home that is welcoming to all. Amenities that are being offered are for basic and practical needs for all tenants.

The 236 First St is centrally located, close to Highway 10, shopping, and restaurants and stores which make it an ideal location to call home. The recently extended sidewalk improves accessibility and there are bus stops located 500 m and 600 m away for access to local transit as well as GO bus.

SHIP’s Dufferin Services Team has a satellite office located on-site wherein staff are present between the 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM to meet with both community clients and to support residents onsite.

However, please note that the programs on-site fall within the range of independent housing and support with activities of daily living is not included.
