SHIP Board Recruiting New Members

Services and Housing In the Province (SHIP) is looking for volunteers to join our board of directors. We are seeking to create a diverse board and inclusive culture that closely matches our community, and we encourage applicants who are passionate about equity to apply.

As a member of the SHIP Board of Directors, you will get the opportunity to:
• Work with a proven Board of Directors and Management Team
• Help shape the organization’s future and strategic plan
• Lead the organization through upcoming systems change

Board Responsibilities

Time Commitment

• Responsible for effective governance and
leadership for the organization
• Review board package/materials
• Attend board meetings and applicable
sub-committee meetings

• 6 to 10 hours per month
• Monthly Committee meeting
(excludes July/August)

In addition, we are looking for volunteers who:

1. Have an in-depth understanding and experience managing the strategic direction and
risk management needs of an organization
2. Have high ethical standards and strong integrity
3. Demonstrate leadership, drive, and initiative
4. Collaborate effectively and work in a team environment
5. Understand our mission and commit to make an impact
